These handcrafted Bread Boxes are crafted from durable red oak with fabric on the back of the door. Great for seasoned bakers or beginners alike, these bread boxes are ideal for storing baked bread or other baked goods. Designed for functionality, the bread box door includes a groove is on the bottom of the door to function as a handle, making it easy to open and close. The door is fitted & slides in grooves to allowing it to roll up and down. The back pieces are fitted into grooves that securely lock them in place. Each bread box is fasten together using glue and screws.

Every piece of the box is sanded after each cut to ensure a smooth finish before being fastened together. The box is finished by staining for a classic, rich appearance, and the door is waxed to allow for smooth, easy movement.

Care instructions

  • Allow the box to sit in a well-ventilated area prior to use. The stain is applied shortly before shipping so it will still smell on arrival. 
  • Clean with a damp cloth using only water. Wipe down with dry cloth. 
  • Wood-safe cleaners or polish may be used on the outside.
  • Do not wipe the back of the door with a wet cloth.
  • If the door has trouble rolling up or down, apply food-safe wax on the grooves.
  • Do not put dough or batter in the bread box. It is not designed for dough proofing or fermentation.
